Development of a 3D printed torsional sensor

Combining conductive and dielectric materials in a multi-material 3D printed object allows to fabricate mechanical sensors to measure e.g. forces, displacements, rotation, moments, pressures, etc. Sensing principles can be be based on e.g. piezo-resistive or capacitive effects. In this project we aim at devising, fabricating and characterising a 3D printed torsional sensor. Such sensors may, for example, be used in tactile sensor, flow sensors, moment sensors, etc.
