Investigating electrical properties of ADAM 3D printed 17-4PH stainless steel for integrated sensing functionalities

Fused Deposition Moulding (FDM) 3D metal printing enables the printing of single metallic structures, prohibiting the creation of selective electrical conductive patterns.

However, playing with the print parameters and designs one may wonder if this can be adapted to have electrically insulated islands. If so, this can potentially be used to make 3D printed medical implants with integrated sensing functionality.
