Education and Programmes

Typical for work in Robotics and Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary systems approach.

To reach an optimal result/system design, background is necessary in (some of) the underlying disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechatronic Engineering, Systems Engineering. However, the scope of the educational programme is broader. The analysis and design philosophy and the tools used for designing robotic and mechatronic systems (modelling and simulation, controller design, image processing and realisations in embedded computer systems) are applicable to many technical and non-technical systems. It is therefore not surprising that graduates from the group Robotics and Mechatronics easily find interesting jobs in a wide variety of application areas.

Programmes

The Robotics and Mechatronics group participates in the following programmes:

Besides these programmes, students of MSc Biomedical Engineering, and Industrial Design Engineering also regularly do their final project in our lab. For information on final projects at RaM, have a look here: Final projects at RAM.

The language for the MSc programmes is English.

Specialisations

These specialisations are ending. New students should consider MSc Robotics and its specialisations.

The Robotics and Mechatronics group provides the following tracks/specialisations:

  • MSc Systems and Control: Robotics and Mechatronics specialisation
  • MSc Electrical Engineering: Robotics and Mechatronics specialisation

See Robotics and Mechatronics Tracks.

Student assistants

If you are student interested in getting involved with teaching, consider becoming a student assistant at RaM. Please send the course(s) you are interested in, together with your grade list and expected time available per week, to sa-ram-eemcs [at] utwente.nl as application. You can also email the teacher of the course you're interested in.
