The design of a pneumatic haptic device for teleoperated minimally invasive medical applications

Finished: 2022-07-22

BSc assignment

Haptic feedback has been a part of many consumer products for a long time. However, integrating this feature in the medical field, especially minimally invasive interventions, is very rare. The project's objective is to design a kinesthetic haptic device that responds efficiently to forces acting on the insertion needle, which is used in biopsies, ablations, etc.

After designing and building the device, it will be tested to verify whether it can translate minute force differences on the insertion needle, endoscopes and numerous other medical applications.
