Within the MURAB project, a FEM model is developed that predicts the deformation of a breast caused by an ultrasound probe.
The purpose of this research is to find out whether this model can predict the deformation of the phantom accurately enough to predict the position of a tumor after phantom deformation. Different phantoms like a breast-shaped phantom and also gelatin phantoms in the shape of a cuboid have been deformed by different types of farces. The phantoms are compared to FEM simulations and a theoretical model.
