Hardware integration of electronic speed controllers on an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Mechanical design and prototyping

This thesis documents the design and prototyping of a UAV platform for comparison of MikroKopter ESCs to KISS ESCs under flight conditions.

An existing design of a tilt rotor hexacopter was adapted to fit the KISS ESCs, along with a newly designed power distribution board and a Teensy 4.0 microcontroller. The parts of the prototype were fabricated using a 3D printer and a laser cutter to experiment with faster and lighter production. The prototype was assembled, but not yet tested or compared to the design usingMikroKopter ESCs.
