Software Integration of Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) for an Unmanned Aerial Robot

In this bachelor thesis, the software integration of Dshot protocol was implemented on a hex rotor UAV. Dshot protocol is a digital form of communication between the motor controller and the ESC, thus making it advantageous over analog methods when it comes to noise level and performance speed.

The implementation was done using Genom3 component that can communicate with the hardware (Teensy) connected to the KISS ESC used, and data was collected by testing the Genom3 component on a single motor and simulate it using Gazebo.
