Aortic insufficiently is a worldwide problem and has to be properly diagnosed and treated. In the ZGT in Hengelo two MRI methods are used to measure the regurgitation fraction, which is a measure of the severity of aortic insufficiency.
However, these methods, which include drawing ventricle contours and a 2D flow estimation, do not give the same results. These methods have to be validated to research which method gives a better respresentation of the regurgitation fraction.
This is investigated by a literaturesearch and by a step by step comparison. From this research the 2D flow method is found as the better solution.
