This thesis is part of the video capsule endoscopy (VCE) project of RaM, and will focus on 3D reconstruction of the intestines.
The magnetic actuation of the capsule results in a tumbling locomotion pattern. The video results can leave clinicians disoriented due to this motion; thus, video analysis in 2D is challenging. By providing the clinician with a graphical user interface (GUI) in which both the camera view and 3D reconstruction are shown in real-time, they can steer the capsule to traverse the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and thoroughly investigate abnormalities along the way.
