Patients with Duchenne Muscle Dystrophy (DMD) are slowly losing the ability to use their muscles. After the illness has progressed beyond a certain stage, they will not be able to use their arms anymore. However, even though their muscles don't have enough power to lift their arms, they still emit small EMG signals.
In this assignment, an EMG band for Duchenne patients will be designed and characterized. With this band, the remaining EMG signals can be read and possibly used in the future to drive an exoskeleton so DMD patients will have a higher quality of life.
