Project Description: Ultrasound images are known to have a low spatial resolution. It requires highly trained medical staff to localize certain anatomical structures. An inaccurate localization in hepatic percutaneous procedures might lead to misdiagnosis, destruction of healthy tissues, and incomplete treatment. The aim of this project consists in creating an algorithm capable of tracking a specific anatomical structure in the liver from an ultrasound recording of human subjects.
The student should be interested in programming, image processing, and computer vision. Preferably student has taken the course in Image Processing and Computer Vision.
