This thesis is part of the “Mission I.A.M.” initiative [1], which aims at creating active leg protheses that will allow para-athletes to compete in extreme sports competitions. Currently this initiative aims to create smart sportswear to continuously gather data on biomechanical health during ultra-marathon races.
This master thesis focuses on developing custom re-usable, flexible multi-material 3D printed sensors to be used together wirelessly, mobile electronics to create robust smart wearable sportswear that will be used during the Marathon Des Sables this coming November (2025) [2].
The sportswear to be created will use soft electromyography sensors to measure activities of the tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius lateralis, gastrocnemius medialis and soleus.
