Measuring of Wearable Haptic Interaction

MSc assignment

The thesis Measuring of Wearable Haptic Interaction aims to understand the haptic interaction between humans and garments.

The thesis is motivated by the fact that we currently don't have an ideal way to measure the normal force from a haptic device and how this affects the user. Therefore, to better understand this force applied to the user, we will create a haptic sleeve able to produce force stimuli. The stimuli are produced by McKibben fibres embedded into the sleeve.

After that, we will study the best approach for measuring the normal force. We can further develop novel haptic garments to improve people's lives with a better understanding.
