Optical tracking system calibration for image-guided interventions

MSc assignment

Tracking solutions can provide accurate tracking and navigation to support the clinician during interventional procedures. Integration of the tool tracking within the imaging modality facilitates the navigation process and the use of computer-assisted or robotic surgeries. The first step of developing such systems is to calibrate the optical tracking system.

The aim of this thesis is to develop an accurate calibration procedure with high precision that can perform in a clinical environment.

This project is in collaboration with an industrial partner and therefore there are additional protocols surrounding onboarding and thesis/graduation with regards to confidentiality.
