A half-semester (5EC) introduction to the modelling of dynamical systems in a geometric framework, intended as a natural continuation of the Modelling, Dynamics and Kinematics course.
This encompasses selected deepening topics in differential geometry and Lie theory, classical Lagrangian & Hamiltonian mechanics in a formal geometrical setting, and introductory port-Hamiltonian theory.
The course is carried out through self-study and weekly lectures/discussions. The assessment is based on a written reflection on the learning outcomes.
