Respiratory disorder like asthma are affecting a lot of children in present days. In order to clearly understand the inflammation behavior of the lungs, doctors need to be able to observe the changes occurring in the lungs while the child breathes. There are many instances where in the bad condition that the child might be in when at home, he might not be when at the doctor's clinic, thus preventing the proper diagnosis of the illness.
The aim of this research is to create a home-based observation setup using a stereo camera through which the parents would be able to record a 3D pattern of the inhalation as well exhalation behavior of their child's lungs. The difference between the two processes is what determines the condition of the lungs. The observation will be done using a stereo camera.
