This month, the Aerial Robotics team of the Robotics and Mechatronics Department hosted a successful plenary meeting of the EU project AutoASSESS. The project aims to protect human lives by developing autonomous aerial robots for the inspection of ballast tanks and cargo hulls—environments that are highly constrained and hazardous for human operators.
AutoASSESS brings together expertise from multiple areas of robotics, including design, control, localization, and machine learning. The project’s strong consortium includes leading technical universities (NTNU, DTU, UZH, and TUM) as well as industry leaders (Flyability and ScoutDI).
The consortium appreciated the dynamic research environment at RAM and the beautiful surroundings of our campus—making us proud of our department and its contributions.
